En vista a lo descripto, se dispone el sacrificio de los 27 caballos argentinos, más 10 chilenos.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal style='text-autospace:none'><b><i><span lang=ES style='font-family:TimesNewRomanPS-BoldMT'>Servicio Agrícola y Ganadero</span></i></b><b><i><span lang=ES style='font-size:11.0pt;font-family:TimesNewRomanPS-BoldMT'><o:p></o:p></span></i></b></p><p class=MsoNormal style='text-autospace:none'><b><i><span lang=ES style='font-family:TimesNewRomanPS-BoldMT'>Región Metropolitana<o:p></o:p></span></i></b></p><p class=MsoNormal style='text-autospace:none'><i><span lang=ES style='font-size:9.0pt;font-family:TimesNewRomanPSMT'>(IdDO 907274)<o:p></o:p></span></i></p><p class=MsoNormal style='text-autospace:none'><b><i><span lang=ES style='font-family:TimesNewRomanPS-BoldMT'>DETERMINA PRESENCIA DE ENFERMEDAD QUE INDICA Y AUTORIZA</span></i></b><b><i><span lang=ES style='font-size:11.0pt;font-family:TimesNewRomanPS-BoldMT'><o:p></o:p></span></i></b></p><p class=MsoNormal style='text-autospace:none'><b><i><span lang=ES style='font-family:TimesNewRomanPS-BoldMT'>SACRIFICIO SANITARIO DE EQUINOS PRESENTES EN CUARENTENA<o:p></o:p></span></i></b></p><p class=MsoNormal style='text-autospace:none'><b><i><span lang=ES style='font-family:TimesNewRomanPS-BoldMT'>DE IMPORTACIÓN DE FUNDO EL MAITÉN<o:p></o:p></span></i></b></p><p class=MsoNormal style='text-autospace:none'><b><i><span lang=ES style='font-family:TimesNewRomanPS-BoldMT'>(Resolución)<o:p></o:p></span></i></b></p><p class=MsoNormal style='text-autospace:none'><i><span lang=ES style='font-family:TimesNewRomanPSMT'>Núm. 1.406 exenta.- Santiago, 19 de mayo de 2015.<o:p></o:p></span></i></p><p class=MsoNormal style='text-autospace:none'><i><span lang=ES style='font-family:TimesNewRomanPSMT'>Vistos:<o:p></o:p></span></i></p><p class=MsoNormal style='text-autospace:none'><i><span lang=ES style='font-family:TimesNewRomanPSMT'>Lo dispuesto en la ley 18.755, Orgánica del Servicio Agrícola y Ganadero;<o:p></o:p></span></i></p><p class=MsoNormal style='text-autospace:none'><i><span lang=ES style='font-family:TimesNewRomanPSMT'>el DFL RRA Nº 16 de 1963, sobre Sanidad y Protección Animal; el decreto<o:p></o:p></span></i></p><p class=MsoNormal style='text-autospace:none'><i><span lang=ES style='font-family:TimesNewRomanPSMT'>Nº 318, de 1925, que establece el Reglamento para la aplicación de la Ley de<o:p></o:p></span></i></p><p class=MsoNormal style='text-autospace:none'><i><span lang=ES style='font-family:TimesNewRomanPSMT'>Policía Sanitaria Animal; decreto 389, de 2014, que Establece Enfermedades de<o:p></o:p></span></i></p><p class=MsoNormal style='text-autospace:none'><i><span lang=ES style='font-family:TimesNewRomanPSMT'>Declaración Obligatoria para la Aplicación de Medidas Sanitarias, del Ministerio<o:p></o:p></span></i></p><p class=MsoNormal style='text-autospace:none'><i><span lang=ES style='font-family:TimesNewRomanPSMT'>de Relaciones Exteriores, que promulga el “Acuerdo de Marrakech”, por el que<o:p></o:p></span></i></p><p class=MsoNormal style='text-autospace:none'><i><span lang=ES style='font-family:TimesNewRomanPSMT'>se establece la Organización Mundial del Comercio y los Acuerdos Anexos, entre<o:p></o:p></span></i></p><p class=MsoNormal style='text-autospace:none'><i><span lang=ES style='font-family:TimesNewRomanPSMT'>éstos, el de aplicación de Medidas Sanitarias y Fitosanitarias; las Recomendaciones<o:p></o:p></span></i></p><p class=MsoNormal style='text-autospace:none'><i><span lang=ES style='font-family:TimesNewRomanPSMT'>del Código Sanitario para los Animales Terrestres de la Organización Mundial de<o:p></o:p></span></i></p><p class=MsoNormal style='text-autospace:none'><i><span lang=ES style='font-family:TimesNewRomanPSMT'>Sanidad Animal (OIE).<o:p></o:p></span></i></p><p class=MsoNormal style='text-autospace:none'><i><span lang=ES style='font-family:TimesNewRomanPSMT'>Considerando:<o:p></o:p></span></i></p><p class=MsoNormal style='text-autospace:none'><i><span lang=ES style='font-family:TimesNewRomanPSMT'>1. Que, es función del Servicio Agrícola y Ganadero (SAG) velar por la Sanidad<o:p></o:p></span></i></p><p class=MsoNormal style='text-autospace:none'><i><span lang=ES style='font-family:TimesNewRomanPSMT'>y Protección Animal.<o:p></o:p></span></i></p><p class=MsoNormal style='text-autospace:none'><i><span lang=ES style='font-family:TimesNewRomanPSMT'>2. Que corresponde al Servicio Agrícola y Ganadero (SAG) adoptar las medidas<o:p></o:p></span></i></p><p class=MsoNormal style='text-autospace:none'><i><span lang=ES style='font-family:TimesNewRomanPSMT'>que estime convenientes para evitar la introducción al país y la propagación dentro<o:p></o:p></span></i></p><p class=MsoNormal style='text-autospace:none'><i><span lang=ES style='font-family:TimesNewRomanPSMT'>del territorio nacional, de las enfermedades de los animales, y combatir las existentes.<o:p></o:p></span></i></p><p class=MsoNormal style='text-autospace:none'><i><span lang=ES style='font-family:TimesNewRomanPSMT'>3. Que, mediante resolución exenta Nº 1.077 del año 2015, se autoriza como<o:p></o:p></span></i></p><p class=MsoNormal style='text-autospace:none'><i><span lang=ES style='font-family:TimesNewRomanPSMT'>lugar de cuarentena de importación al Fundo El Maitén, en la comuna de Talagante,<o:p></o:p></span></i></p><p class=MsoNormal style='text-autospace:none'><i><span lang=ES style='font-family:TimesNewRomanPSMT'>para <span style='background:yellow;mso-highlight:yellow'>27 equinos provenientes de Argentina</span> del consignatario Agrícola Ganadera<o:p></o:p></span></i></p><p class=MsoNormal style='text-autospace:none'><i><span lang=ES style='font-family:TimesNewRomanPSMT'>Haras Carioca.<o:p></o:p></span></i></p><p class=MsoNormal style='text-autospace:none'><i><span lang=ES style='font-family:TimesNewRomanPSMT'>4. Que, en base a informe técnico emitido por la Encargada Regional de<o:p></o:p></span></i></p><p class=MsoNormal style='text-autospace:none'><i><span lang=ES style='font-family:TimesNewRomanPSMT'>Trazabilidad de la Dirección Regional Metropolitana, de fecha 12 de mayo del presente<o:p></o:p></span></i></p><p class=MsoNormal style='text-autospace:none'><i><span lang=ES style='font-family:TimesNewRomanPSMT'>año, se establece que tras la importación de los mencionados equinos provenientes<o:p></o:p></span></i></p><p class=MsoNormal style='text-autospace:none'><i><span lang=ES style='font-family:TimesNewRomanPSMT'>desde Argentina, y su muestreo respectivo, “Los resultados serológicos del Depto.<o:p></o:p></span></i></p><p class=MsoNormal style='text-autospace:none'><i><span lang=ES style='font-family:TimesNewRomanPSMT'>de Laboratorios y Estaciones Cuarentenarias de Lo Aguirre, protocolo Nº 2802 de<o:p></o:p></span></i></p><p class=MsoNormal style='text-autospace:none'><i><span lang=ES style='font-family:TimesNewRomanPSMT'>fecha 05/05/2015 <span style='background:yellow;mso-highlight:yellow'>muestra que tres ejemplares importados son positivos a prueba de<o:p></o:p></span></span></i></p><p class=MsoNormal style='text-autospace:none'><i><span lang=ES style='font-family:TimesNewRomanPSMT;background:yellow;mso-highlight:yellow'>fijación de complemento para Burkholderia mallei y el protocolo Nº 3130 de fecha<o:p></o:p></span></i></p><p class=MsoNormal style='text-autospace:none'><i><span lang=ES style='font-family:TimesNewRomanPSMT;background:yellow;mso-highlight:yellow'>06/05/2015 refleja cinco ejemplares importados positivos y 2 equinos nacionales<o:p></o:p></span></i></p><p class=MsoNormal style='text-autospace:none'><i><span lang=ES style='font-family:TimesNewRomanPSMT;background:yellow;mso-highlight:yellow'>positivos a la misma prueba serológica; esto hace suponer sin lugar a duda razonable<o:p></o:p></span></i></p><p class=MsoNormal style='text-autospace:none'><i><span lang=ES style='font-family:TimesNewRomanPSMT;background:yellow;mso-highlight:yellow'>la existencia de la enfermedad denominada Muermo equino”.</span></i><i><span lang=ES style='font-family:TimesNewRomanPSMT'><o:p></o:p></span></i></p><p class=MsoNormal style='text-autospace:none'><i><span lang=ES style='font-family:TimesNewRomanPSMT'>5. Que, lo anteriormente expuesto es confirmado por los resultados de laboratorio<o:p></o:p></span></i></p><p class=MsoNormal style='text-autospace:none'><i><span lang=ES style='font-family:TimesNewRomanPSMT'>de referencia de la OIE en Alemania Friedrich-Loeffler-Institut. Ref. Nº 15RRR3085-<o:p></o:p></span></i></p><p class=MsoNormal style='text-autospace:none'><i><span lang=ES style='font-family:TimesNewRomanPSMT'>3087 de fecha 19 de mayo de 2015 dan como positivos a Muermo.<o:p></o:p></span></i></p><p class=MsoNormal style='text-autospace:none'><i><span lang=ES style='font-family:TimesNewRomanPSMT'>6. Que, la enfermedad en comento es una zoonosis mortal para la cual no<o:p></o:p></span></i></p><p class=MsoNormal style='text-autospace:none'><i><span lang=ES style='font-family:TimesNewRomanPSMT'>existe vacuna, poco frecuente en el hombre, a lo cual se adiciona que los animales<o:p></o:p></span></i></p><p class=MsoNormal style='text-autospace:none'><i><span lang=ES style='font-family:TimesNewRomanPSMT'>infectados asintomáticos son de alto riesgo para la salud humana.<o:p></o:p></span></i></p><p class=MsoNormal style='text-autospace:none'><i><span lang=ES style='font-family:TimesNewRomanPSMT'>7. Que, a lo señalado precedentemente, se agrega en informe antes citado: “Por<o:p></o:p></span></i></p><p class=MsoNormal style='text-autospace:none'><i><span lang=ES style='font-family:TimesNewRomanPSMT'>esta razón el plantel en su conjunto presenta una situación epidemiológica que hace<o:p></o:p></span></i></p><p class=MsoNormal style='text-autospace:none'><i><span lang=ES style='font-family:TimesNewRomanPSMT'>indispensable eliminar todos los posibles medios de transmisión de la enfermedad<o:p></o:p></span></i></p><p class=MsoNormal style='text-autospace:none'><i><span lang=ES style='font-family:TimesNewRomanPSMT'>con la mayor celeridad posible”.<o:p></o:p></span></i></p><p class=MsoNormal style='text-autospace:none'><i><span lang=ES style='font-family:TimesNewRomanPSMT'>8. Que, en concordancia a lo expresado con antelación, y atendidas las facultades<o:p></o:p></span></i></p><p class=MsoNormal style='text-autospace:none'><i><span lang=ES style='font-family:TimesNewRomanPSMT'>en orden sanitario que poseen los Directores Regionales según lo establecido en la<o:p></o:p></span></i></p><p class=MsoNormal style='text-autospace:none'><i><span lang=ES style='font-family:TimesNewRomanPSMT'>propia Ley Orgánica del Servicio, así como en el DFL RRA Nº 16, y demás normas<o:p></o:p></span></i></p><p class=MsoNormal style='text-autospace:none'><i><span lang=ES style='font-family:TimesNewRomanPSMT'>legales, es necesario adoptar medidas que eviten la difusión de la enfermedad a<o:p></o:p></span></i></p><p class=MsoNormal style='text-autospace:none'><i><span lang=ES style='font-family:TimesNewRomanPSMT'>otras explotaciones pecuarias.<o:p></o:p></span></i></p><p class=MsoNormal style='text-autospace:none'><i><span lang=ES style='font-family:TimesNewRomanPSMT'>9. <span style='background:yellow;mso-highlight:yellow'>Que, el decreto 389 de 2014, establece como enfermedad de declaración<o:p></o:p></span></span></i></p><p class=MsoNormal style='text-autospace:none'><i><span lang=ES style='font-family:TimesNewRomanPSMT;background:yellow;mso-highlight:yellow'>obligatoria el Muermo equino (Burkholderia mallei).</span></i><i><span lang=ES style='font-family:TimesNewRomanPSMT'><o:p></o:p></span></i></p><p class=MsoNormal style='text-autospace:none'><i><span lang=ES style='font-family:TimesNewRomanPSMT'>Resuelvo:<o:p></o:p></span></i></p><p class=MsoNormal style='text-autospace:none'><i><span lang=ES style='font-family:TimesNewRomanPSMT'>1. <span style='background:yellow;mso-highlight:yellow'>Declárese la presencia de la enfermedad de Muermo en los equinos</span><o:p></o:p></span></i></p><p class=MsoNormal style='text-autospace:none'><i><span lang=ES style='font-family:TimesNewRomanPSMT'>cuarentenados en el Fundo El Maitén, RUP 13.6.01.0067 ubicado en Av. Talagante<o:p></o:p></span></i></p><p class=MsoNormal style='text-autospace:none'><i><span lang=ES style='font-family:TimesNewRomanPSMT'>Paradero 4</span></i><i><span lang=ES style='font-size:7.0pt;font-family:TimesNewRomanPSMT'>1/2 </span></i><i><span lang=ES style='font-family:TimesNewRomanPSMT'>s/n, Parcela Nº0337, Interior Fundo El Maitén, de la comuna de<o:p></o:p></span></i></p><p class=MsoNormal style='text-autospace:none'><i><span lang=ES style='font-family:TimesNewRomanPSMT'>Talagante, Región Metropolitana.<o:p></o:p></span></i></p><p class=MsoNormal style='text-autospace:none'><i><span lang=ES style='font-family:TimesNewRomanPSMT'>2. <span style='background:yellow;mso-highlight:yellow'>Sacrifíquese la totalidad de los equinos presentes en Haras y animales<o:p></o:p></span></span></i></p><p class=MsoNormal style='text-autospace:none'><i><span lang=ES style='font-family:TimesNewRomanPSMT;background:yellow;mso-highlight:yellow'>susceptibles,</span></i><i><span lang=ES style='font-family:TimesNewRomanPSMT'> así como la destrucción de los productos de desechos y materiales en<o:p></o:p></span></i></p><p class=MsoNormal style='text-autospace:none'><i><span lang=ES style='font-family:TimesNewRomanPSMT'>contacto con animales que se encuentran en el recinto ya individualizado, observando<o:p></o:p></span></i></p><p class=MsoNormal style='text-autospace:none'><i><span lang=ES style='font-family:TimesNewRomanPSMT'>las recomendaciones que mitiguen al máximo el sufrimiento de los animales y según<o:p></o:p></span></i></p><p class=MsoNormal style='text-autospace:none'><i><span lang=ES style='font-family:TimesNewRomanPSMT'>los estándares internacionales.<o:p></o:p></span></i></p><p class=MsoNormal style='text-autospace:none'><i><span lang=ES style='font-family:TimesNewRomanPSMT'>3. Los sacrificios se ejecutarán en el mismo predio, así como la destrucción<o:p></o:p></span></i></p><p class=MsoNormal style='text-autospace:none'><i><span lang=ES style='font-family:TimesNewRomanPSMT'>de los productos.<o:p></o:p></span></i></p><p class=MsoNormal style='text-autospace:none'><i><span lang=ES style='font-family:TimesNewRomanPSMT'>4. Que, posterior a la aplicación de las medidas sanitarias, se deberá realizar<o:p></o:p></span></i></p><p class=MsoNormal style='text-autospace:none'><i><span lang=ES style='font-family:TimesNewRomanPSMT'>desinfección de las instalaciones.<o:p></o:p></span></i></p><p class=MsoNormal style='text-autospace:none'><i><span lang=ES style='font-family:TimesNewRomanPSMT'>5. Cumplida la medida sanitaria de sacrificio y destrucción, se extenderá acta<o:p></o:p></span></i></p><p class=MsoNormal style='text-autospace:none'><i><span lang=ES style='font-family:TimesNewRomanPSMT'>de la que se otorgará copia a la empresa.<o:p></o:p></span></i></p><p class=MsoNormal style='text-autospace:none'><i><span lang=ES style='font-family:TimesNewRomanPSMT'>6. Es muy contagiosa y puede ser mortal. En el caballo las principales manifestaciones clínicas posibles son ulceras y nódulos en la cavidad nasal, con secreciones purulentas, abcesos pulmonares y nódulos y abcesos cutáneos asociados a los vasos linfáticos.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span lang=ES style='font-size:14.0pt'><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span lang=ES style='font-size:14.0pt'>3) Es necesario aclarar que hasta la fecha, las autoridades chilenas solo exigían caballos serológicamente libres de AIE y piroplasmosis. Nunca han requerido pruebas NEGATIVAS a MUERMO. Se ignora porqué se sometió a esta prueba a los caballos argentinos, incluso lo pregunté personalmente a un técnico del SAG, y no recibí una respuesta consistente.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span lang=ES style='font-size:14.0pt'><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span lang=ES style='font-size:14.0pt'>4) De esta manera, estos 27 caballos fueron exportados a Chile sin un control previo de Muermo hecho en Argentina.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span lang=ES style='font-size:14.0pt'><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span lang=ES style='font-size:14.0pt'>5) Todos estos hechos estan siendo analizados junto a las autoridades de SENASA, la Dra Rosa Debenedetti (Enfermedades Exóticas-DILAB), Dr Eduardo Saint Jean (Coordinador Regional de Sanidad Animal) y Dr Esteban Durante (Programa de équidos), exportadores y el Dr I. Pavlovsky (h),(Autoridad del Hipódromo de Palermo).<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span lang=ES style='font-size:14.0pt'><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span lang=ES style='font-size:14.0pt'>6) En vista a todo lo acontecido, se dispuso el control serológico de los 27 sueros de los caballos exportados a Chile, en nuestro laboratorio de Clinica Equina y en el laboratorio del DILAB el SENASA, arrojando en ambos laboratorios un mismo resultado: todos NEGATIVO<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span lang=ES style='font-size:14.0pt'><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span lang=ES style='font-size:14.0pt'>7) Es indispensable dejar en claro que la República Argentina es un país LIBRE DE MUERMO. Jamás se ha presentado la enfermedad en ningunas de sus formas. <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span lang=ES style='font-size:14.0pt'><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span lang=ES style='font-size:14.0pt'>8) Nuestro laboratorio CLINICA EQUINA, autorizado por SENASA para emitir certificados oficiales para diversas enfermedades del caballo (AIE, Piroplasmosis, Durina y Muermo), y acreditado bajo la Norma ISO 17025 por el OAA, y con acreditaciones del USDA, viene realizando el control serológico de la mayoria de los caballos que se exportan e importan. Desde hace más de 25 años la Argentina ha exportado más de 80.000 caballos a todo el mundo, USA, Unión Europea, Países Arabes, etc, y jamás han sido detectado caballos exportados que estén infectados con Muermo. Sólo existieron un par de casos de caballos reactores, que jamás manifestaron síntomas, y que solo se trató de falsos positivos. El problema de los FALSOS POSITIVOS en la prueba de fijación de complemento del MUERMO es algo reconocido y citado abundantemente en la bibliografía.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span lang=ES style='font-size:14.0pt'><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span lang=ES style='font-size:14.0pt'>9) <b><u>SEROLOGIA DE MUERMO, y discrepancia de resultados:</u> <o:p></o:p></b></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><b><span lang=ES style='font-size:14.0pt'><o:p> </o:p></span></b></p><p class=MsoNormal><span lang=ES style='font-size:14.0pt'>Por qué razón existe una discrepancia de resultados entre lo obtenido por el SAG Chile, y nosotros ?<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span lang=ES style='font-size:14.0pt'>El único test prescripto por la OIE para GLANDERS (MUERMO)es la fijación de complemento. El MANUAL DE LOS ANIMALES TERRESTRES DE LA OIE describe la prueba, y como debe obtenerse el antígeno. <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span lang=ES style='font-size:14.0pt'>El laboratorio DBL, del NVSL, USDA prepara su antígeno y realiza la pruebas siguiendo todos los lineamientos de la OIE. Tanto el laboratorio del DILAB como CLINICA EQUINA realiza exactamente la misma prueba que el USDA, con sus mismos reactivos.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span lang=ES style='font-size:14.0pt'>La prueba de fijación de complemento para el MUERMO ha sido un instrumento utilizado en los últimos 30 años para controlar con bastante éxito la enfermedad en el movimiento internacional de caballos, entre ellos, la erradicación de la enfermedad de USA. Es capaz de detectar infecciones tempranas, debido a que utiliza IgM, y también infecciones crónicas. Sin embargo, sus puntos débiles son algunos falsos positivos y una sensibilidad menor a otros tests más modernos, como el CELISA o iELISA.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span lang=ES style='font-size:14.0pt'>El dia 25 de Mayo me comuniqué con la Dra A. Pezoa, profesional chilena responsable del laboratorio de serología, para consultarla sobre las serologías POSITIVAS a Muermo en Chile. La Dra Pezoa, que me pareció una profesional competente y muy informada, me manifestó lo siguiente:<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span lang=ES style='font-size:14.0pt'>- Que la prueba realizada por el SAG es FC, PERO, que ellos utilizan un antígeno alemán, que es diferente al del USDA. <o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span lang=ES style='font-size:14.0pt'>- Que los resultados fueron POSITIVOS.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span lang=ES style='font-size:14.0pt'>- Que desde hace un tiempo dejaron de usar los reactivos del USDA, y comenzaron a usar los de Alemania, debido a una exigencia durante una auditoria del Mercado Comun Europeo.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span lang=ES style='font-size:14.0pt'><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span lang=ES style='font-size:14.0pt'>10) <b>Porqué La Unión Europea y USA utilizan antígenos diferentes</b> ?<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span lang=ES style='font-size:14.0pt'><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span lang=ES style='font-size:14.0pt'>Siempre existió una disputa entre el USDA y la UE sobre cuales técnicas o antígenos deben usarse. Many positive sera were erroneously called negative using the USDA antigen. Based on this information we initiated a study to compare the antigens in our hands. Unfortunately, we also found that the USDA antigen did not perform as well as other commercially available antigens, and we also saw many false negatives. Because of this research, we have switched from using the USDA antigen to ccPro. The ccPro antigen is a whole cell antigen, instead of the primarily LPS formulation of the USDA antigen.</span> </span><o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='color:#993366'> The literature has a number of references of cross reacting organisms on the glanders CFT. The OIE reference laboratory in Germany recommends a two test approach for glanders. The immunoblot is used to confirm and CFT reactors, since we know there are false positives. </span><o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='color:#993366'> We are working to develop a cELISA test for glanders based on the one that Dr. Katz had developed. We know the antigen that was used in that test is not the best choice for a good, sensitive ELISA. I do not have experience with the iELISA you mentioned. I will take a look at the literature. I believe most countries, including Germany, are still performing CFT, though I know there are some commercially available ELISA kits, a couple of which we’ve tried. De todas maneras, esto debo confirmarlo bien.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span lang=ES style='font-size:14.0pt'>d) El USDA cambia de antígeno y no nos avisa nada ¡!, esto hay que tratarlo con ellos, y disponer de inmediato de los mismos reactivos, al menos para aquellos países que usen el antígeno alemán.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span lang=ES style='font-size:14.0pt'>e) El uso de reactivos diferentes en distintos países es un problema grave, ya que pueden dar lugar a conflictos como el presente. Esto hay que resolverlo a la brevedad !<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span lang=ES style='font-size:14.0pt'>f) Es sospechoso que también se hallan sacrificado 10 caballos chilenos.
